Folks in the vicinity of western MA, I’m signal boosting this call from the Institute for Sexuality Education & Enlightenment. They’re looking for speakers for the Sexual Attitude Reassessment (SAR). Here’s the info from them:
We are doing our SAR class in March in Northampton March 15, 16 & 17. This class requires informal speakers for the the following panels:
—Orientation (LGBPA, etc.) March 16\ —Gender Identity— trans*, etc., March 16\ —Non-monogamy (poly, open, swingers, etc) March 17\ —Kink (power exchange), March 17\ —Sex & disability (of any kind, including cognitive/mental health issues) March 16
The panels are one hour apiece. We like to have 4-6 speakers on each. They usually speak for about 5-7 minutes apiece, then Q&A for the rest of the time.
The point of this class is to expose multiple behaviors, orientations and identities to people who wish to expand their knowledge of human sexuality. These are often professionals who want to be sex educators, therapists, or researchers. But there can also be individuals seeking personal growth or partners who attend, and simply want to expand their worlds. The panels are often the most transformative part of the workshop, our participants always tell us this.
We can’t pay the speakers, but!—anyone who speaks for us on any panel, we offer them a free day workshop (worth \$150), half-day workshop (worth \$90) or webinar, and all of these offer CE credit toward certification, if folks are interested in that type of thing. We also believe that there is a lot of personal satisfaction to be had for the time—our classes are genuinely so appreciative and learn so much from the speakers, our speakers often return over and over again.
